EA Sports Active for the Nintendo Wii was released in May of 2009, and they’ve launched a website that features world class trainers and health enthusiasts Carmen Bott and Bob Greene. Though both Wii Active and Wii Fit are designed to get you off the couch and into shape in a fun and functional way, Wii Active is definitely geared to the U.S. and other english speaking countries. Gone are the voice-overs that are done with thick Asian accents. Furthermore, the music that accompanies each workout no longer sounds like it came from some 80’s radio show. The music that comes with Wii Active reflects the current trends, making your workout more fun. Wii fitness game users don’t have to put their televisions on mute with the improved Wii Active soundtrack.
If you haven’t tried the Wii Fit at all, go to your nearest Gamespot or retail store and compare the two fitness games. I’m sure you’ll find that it’s difficult to stay motivated watching cute little Wii Mii’s move along to sounds that are totally unfamiliar to you. Wii Active, on the other hand, has been designed and programmed to met the needs of todays fitness enthusiast.
